How It Went Down - May 13, 2011

Friday the 13th!!! Aaaaaah.
Nothing spooky on the show tonight though. I've got an interview with Jennifer Castle (fka Castlemusic) who has a new album on Flemish Eye, and I air an interview that James Borsa, host of Ultrasonic Film, conducted with legendary children's author Gordon Korman.

Here's what was played:

Set One: 6:30 PM - 7 PM

Miracle Fortress - "Raw Spectacle" [Secret City Records]
Chad Vangaalen - "Replace Me" [Flemish Eye]
Interview with Jennifer Castle
Jennifer Castle - "Power" [Flemish Eye]

Set Two: 7 PM - 7:30 PM

Hot Blood Bombers - "Midnight Radio" [Transistor 66]
James Borsa interview with Gordon Korman

Set Three: 7:30 PM - 8 PM

Toolshed - "Round Table (w/ More or Les, SJ the Wordburglar, and Savillion)" [Hand'Solo Records]
Dennis Coffey - "Don't Knock My Love (feat. Fanny Franklin of Orgone)" [Strut]
Wild Beasts - "Loop The Loop" [Domino]
Jamie Woon - "Shoulda" [Candent]
Illusive Mind Gypsy Crew - "Neighborly Etiquette" [Independent]
Teen Daze - "Harvest Moon" [Universal Electricity]

**There may or may not be a show next week depending on how things shake out on the homefront, but stay tuned in the next few weeks as I'll be doing some special programming for UMFM's Open House event, and I've confirmed an interview with graphic novelist (and Mecca Normal member) David Lester about his new book, The Listener, which gets its Winnipeg launch on June 8th.
